Participants may work alone or collaborate with others to create an interactive SMART Notebook lesson on a state standard that aligns with the district’s curriculum.
All participants will have access to a computer or laptop with SMART Notebook software already downloaded. Participants will also have access to the Internet.
Interactive Lesson Requirements:
1) State standard listed. - Must provide the Georgia Performance Standard that the lesson will focus on. The standard must be aligned with the district’s curriculum.
2) Information is relevant to the standard. - The information provided must be relevant to the standard that is being taught.
3) Student-centered lesson. - The lesson must be geared toward the students. Students should be able to follow the flow of the lesson without too many disruptions.
4) Student opportunity for interaction with board manipulating objects, completing activities, or making or delivering notes. - The student-centered lesson must include some type of interaction that keeps students actively engaged in the lesson.
5) Use of at least one Flash file. - Participants must show their understanding of using information from the Notebook’s gallery. This includes using at least one of the macromedia flash files and changing it to fit the flow of his/her lesson.
6) Authentic is an integral part of the lesson. - It is important that assessment plays an integral part of the lesson. It should be evident that students are either understanding or not understanding the lesson or information being presented.
